Jinan Central Hospital's East Campus project is located within the (Shandong) Free Trade Zone - Jinan District, under the influence of the Qilu Innovation and Technology Corridor and the Jinan International Financial City. The area is a vibrant and innovative district in Jinan, known for its concentration of high-end talents, and requires supporting resources to provide services and guarantees for the development of related industries.
The theme revolves around "Harmonizing the Melody of Health and Life," extracting and abstracting elements from the melody to create architectural images, crafting healing spaces, and fostering a harmonious coexistence between the new and old, the interior and exterior, and the city and nature. The design deconstructs and integrates hospital functions, with three relatively independent architectural groups (International Medical Center, Specialized Medical Center, Comprehensive Medical Center) surrounding multiple courtyards and squares. The open hospital without walls brings the east mountain scenery into the city, showcasing greenery and forming a natural transition from natural environment to healing environment to urban environment. The connection between the groups is established by the "Health Path" running through the campus, one side embracing natural mountains and the other medical environments; one side soothing the soul, the other healing the body. The functional connection with the southern teaching area is achieved through the bright and colorful "Life Bridge," also enlivening the urban landscape.
The facade elements of the architectural group extract a musical flow of curves and a staggered pattern of keys, interpreting a modern and international architectural form through design. The color palette of the buildings is inspired by the surrounding environment, featuring autumn grass, maple leaves, and pine forests, creating an inspired-by-nature color scheme. The buildings and mountains complement each other, harmoniously coexisting between culture and nature.
