The gabion mesh is made by mechanically weaving high corrosion-resistant, high-tensile, and ductile low-carbon steel wire, or steel wire coated with PVC. The box-like structure made from this mesh is called a gabion box. The diameter of the low-carbon steel wire used, according to ASTM and EN standards, varies based on engineering design requirements, generally between 2.0-4.0mm. The tensile strength of the gabion wire should be no less than 38kg/m², the weight of the metallic coating generally exceeds 245g/m², and the diameter of the edge line of the gabion sheet should be larger than that of the wire diameter. The length of the double-stranded twisted section must be no less than 50mm to ensure that the metallic coating and PVC coating of the twisted wire are not damaged.
