The pile locater system is an essential dredging equipment for cutter suction dredgers.
Tractor suction dredger's three-line positioning system:
The triple cable positioning system is currently the most mature positioning system used by cutter suction dredgers worldwide.
The Triple Cable定位 system typically refers to a three-point positioning anchor and three positioning cables. These consist of: stern anchor, port anchor, starboard anchor, stern cable, port cable, and starboard cable. The Triple Cable定位 system requires three winches to hoist or lower the three anchor cables, with the ship's position being secured around the center of the triple cable drum.
The cutter suction dredger operates with a three-line positioning system coordinating with the lateral anchor system, achieving the ship's swing and forward movement. The three-line positioning is particularly suitable for deep-water operations, as it is inherently flexible and ideal for挖掘 softer soils. Of course, it can also be used for挖掘 harder soils, but when doing so, the hull often experiences distance oscillations, affecting the stability of挖掘. Moreover, the three-line positioning occupies a large water surface area, making it unsuitable for use in small water bodies. Due to the characteristics of the three-line cutter suction dredger's positioning method, in ports with large tidal differences, the operator must constantly adjust the tension of the three positioning lines based on the tidal conditions to ensure that during construction, the tidal lines are not too tight and the submerged lines are not too loose to prevent progress. As the dredger advances, due to the varying diameters of the cables on the cable strands, it is prone to misalignment or over-advancement during movement, so the operators must continuously adjust as needed.
