Where does the dredger excel?
Dredging ships are highly promoted for river channel dredging, with their operational capabilities widely recognized. Not only are they cost-effective and easy to operate, but they also deliver remarkable results, with cutter suction dredgers being particularly popular. Where else do the advantages of cutter suction dredgers manifest more prominently?
A cutter suction dredger, in a nutshell, is a stationary dredger, with its design focusing on the cutter in the cutter room. The cutter first cuts through the soil, which is then suctioned into the dredger. During the suction process, the dredger uses a positioning pile as the center axis, allowing the anchor chain on the fixed side winch to rotate in an arc-like motion, providing excellent stability.
The cutter suction dredger can also extract sand and silt from underwater using the negative pressure suction of the slurry pump, blowing it to designated areas up to several kilometers or even tens of thousands of meters away. This serves the dual purpose of clearing waterways and reclaiming land from the sea.
