There are also byproduct alkalis, floor alkalis, and common alkalis, etc.

Usage

Industrial-grade:

Glass production is a major industrial consumer of soda ash, widely used in float glass, picture tube glass shells, optical glass, etc. It can also act as a clarifier to remove bubbles from the glass melt.

② High-purity soda ash can reduce the飞扬 of alkali dust, decrease raw material consumption, save costs, and also mitigate the erosion of alkali powder on refractory materials, thereby extending the service life of the kiln.

Sodium carbonate solutions, due to hydrolysis, become alkaline and can undergo saponification with grease, making them suitable for use in the production of detergents.

④ Used in leather processing for defatting raw hides and neutralizing chrome-tanned leather to increase the viscosity of the chrome tanning solution.

⑤ Soda ash is used in papermaking as a buffer to leach out lignin, allowing cellulose to disperse into pulp.

Food-grade:

Food-grade soda ash can be used as a buffering agent, neutralizer, and dough conditioner for bakery and pasta products.

② Lye water, also known as alkali water, is a compounded food additive traditionally used as an ingredient in Cantonese-style desserts.
