Microwave Applications in the Industry
Primarily used for the drying and sterilization of various oral preparations such as pills (water pills, dense pills, water-dense pills, etc.), tablets, powders, granules, and traditional Chinese and Western herbs. For a long time, the pharmaceutical industry in our country has been using traditional heating drying and sterilization methods, such as using hot air and far-infrared for drying drugs, and high temperature and high pressure, cobalt-60 for sterilization. These methods are inefficient in heat utilization, have long drying times, and occupy a large area, which is not environmentally friendly. Moreover, sterilization requires maintaining a temperature of 120℃ under pressure for 20 to 40 minutes, which inevitably damages the efficacy and nutritional components of the drugs. However, using microwave drying and sterilization can fully utilize the characteristics of microwave drying and sterilization, thereby overcoming the drawbacks of traditional heating methods. With a meticulously designed pill microwave drying machine, the processed pills do not crack, maintain consistency, retain their original form, and extend the shelf life. A 5KW microwave oral liquid sterilization unit can process over 5,000 10ML bottles per hour, with a sterilization temperature of only about 80℃ and a time of less than one minute. This not only meets the hygiene standards but also ensures the oral liquid is clear, retains its original nutritional components, has no sediment, and offers a pleasant taste.
