

Spherical High-Pressure Plug
I. Usage
Ball-type high-pressure plug is widely used for sealing excess fluid passages in hydraulic and pneumatic components (valve assemblies, cylinders, or pneumatic cylinders, etc.). It can replace steel ball plugs, conical plug nuts, welded mandrel plugs, and screw plugs with sealing washers, among other types of comprehensive sealing options, featuring high stability and low cost in pure mechanical seal design. Its superiority is particularly evident in the sealing of deep holes. Effective high-pressure, leak-proof seals can be achieved on workpieces made of steel, spheroidal cast iron, gray cast iron, copper, and medium to high-strength aluminum alloys.
II. Operating Principle
The component primarily operates based on the pressure/ expansion principle. When the steel ball is compressed to the bottom of the sleeve, it causes a section of the sleeve to radially expand, transforming the axial stress into the radial expansion effect of the sleeve. At this moment, the sharp teeth formed by the annular groove on the outer periphery of the sleeve are forced into the surrounding workpiece material, thereby creating an effective high-pressure seal without leakage.
Section 3: Instructions for Use
1. Parts using ball-jack type high-pressure plug heads require a leak-proof area where the channel mouth or hole surface must not undergo hardness treatment.
When using ball-type high-pressure堵头, the surface of the sealing channel or hole must be kept clean; it cannot be contaminated by oil or grease.
3. When using a ball-type high-pressure plug, insert the plug and use a hammer and a suitable punch to press the steel ball into the sleeve until it is below the sleeve's upper surface.
4. The wall thickness of the ball-jack type high-pressure plug must not be less than the diameter of the plug. If parallel precision bores are present, the wall thickness should be slightly thicker, and it must not deform.
Operating Temperature: -40~100°C
6. To remove the plug, use a carbide drill bit to bore it out. For diameters greater than 6mm, bore in stages.
