A spherical anchor is a type of anchor used in pre-stressed concrete, consisting of a steel ball, wedges, and an anchor plate. It boasts good self-locking properties and easy installation, and is widely used in post-tensioned pre-stressed concrete structures.
The working principle of spherical anchor devices involves passing the prestressed steel tendons through the center hole of the steel ball and securing them with clamps to the steel ball. The steel ball is then connected to the anchor plate, followed by the pouring of concrete. This process ensures that the prestressed steel tendons are subjected to appropriate tension, thereby enhancing the load-bearing capacity and seismic performance of the concrete structure.
