This project's wastewater primarily consists of traditional Chinese medicine pilot-scale wastewater. The pilot-scale process employs a water-soluble method, which includes three main steps: washing the medicine, boiling and extracting, and preparing the formulation. Consequently, the wastewater mainly originates from the washing water of raw materials, the residual liquid before the crude drug, and the rinsing water of containers and equipment. Component analysis reveals that the traditional Chinese medicine pilot-scale wastewater primarily contains various natural organic pollutants, with main components including sugars, alkaloids, saponins, lignin, bioalkaloids, gums, proteins, pigments, and their hydrolysis products.
