Description

(1) Product Description

Knitted composite geotextile is a new type of geosynthetic material, made by combining glass fiber (or synthetic fiber) as the reinforcing material with needle-punched nonwoven fabric.

Woven geotextile composite is different from general woven fabric. Its major characteristic is that the intersection points of the warp and weft threads do not bend, each remaining in a straight state. By binding them securely with a tie line, they can withstand external forces and distribute stress evenly and synchronously. Moreover, when the material is torn due to the applied force, the yarns will gather along the initial tear, increasing the tear resistance.

During warp-knitted composite, the warp-knitted binding thread is repeatedly passed through the fiber layers between the warp, weft, and needle-punched geotextile, integrating the three into a single structure. Consequently, warp-knitted composite geotextile boasts high tensile strength and low elongation, while also retaining the properties of needle-punched nonwoven fabric. Thus, it is suitable for reinforcement, isolation, and protection, demonstrating excellent water retention and drainage capabilities in both three-dimensional normal and horizontal directions. Due to its continuous solid matrix and pores, it exhibits a multi-porous filtering effect, making it a multifunctional geosynthetic composite. It serves as a high-quality base material for geosynthetic composites applied internationally today.

(II) Product Features

High tensile strength, low elongation, even longitudinal and transverse deformation, high tear resistance, excellent wear resistance, high permeability, and strong anti-backflow properties.

(3) Main Functions of Woven Geotextile Composites

Reinforcement, Drainage, Anti-seepage, Protection, Isolation

(1) Reinforcement Stability Function: It enables the local stress acting on the soil to be transferred or distributed over a larger area, stabilizing and limiting the deformation and settlement of geotechnical engineering during long-term use.

(2) Isolation Function: Use geotextiles to isolate different geosynthetic materials, forming a stable interface, enabling them to exhibit their respective characteristics and overall function as required by the design.

(3) Protective Function: Geotextiles possess excellent puncture resistance, thereby offering superior protective properties.

(4) Drainage and Filter Action: Geotextiles allow water to pass through while preventing the loss of sand and soil particles, functioning to block fine silt particles when laid horizontally across a channel with suspended particles, while still allowing the liquid to pass.

(Four) Engineering Applications of Woven Geotextile Composites

1. Used for anti-filter protection on retaining walls, road embankments, reservoir dams, earth and rock embankments, tunnels, and drainage ditches.

2. Drainage used on road embankments, subgrades, the backside of retaining walls along mountain roads, beneath railway ballast, and between the subgrade and surface of highways.

3. Used for isolation between soft soil and boulders in construction cofferdams, docks, and revetments, as well as for protection and isolation between the bottom of landfill sites and the impermeable layer, the isolation between filter material and waste in landfills, and the isolation and reinforcement of asphalt road surfaces from subgrade.

4. Used for reinforced drainage in slope layers for highways and railways, as well as for drainage reinforcement in backfilling roadbeds and embankments.

5. Used for protective layers in seepage control projects such as artificial lakes, waterways, reservoirs, etc.

6. Used for isolation between the subgrade and the green planting layer in landscape greening projects.

7. Used for drainage on soft foundations and reinforcing to enhance the bearing capacity of subgrades.
