This case was photographed six months after moving in. It offers a true representation of home practicalism and decorative art. It accommodates three residents: parents and their son, with the elders occasionally staying. For medium to large-sized homes, it's essential to highlight the spacious aspect while meeting functional needs. The originally enclosed kitchen is now open, as is the relatively enclosed guest bathroom wash area. The previously enclosed study space has been opened up, creating an interlinked sliding door system to enhance natural light while maintaining privacy. No detail is overlooked to expand the sense of space or to introduce light. The materials are eco-friendly with a matte finish quality. The color scheme is overall warm gray with low saturation, accented by unique furniture and decorative pieces. It creates a comfortable, harmonious, and fun living atmosphere.
Floor plan

The original structure of this case features a narrow corridor between the living and dining areas, with the kitchen lacking ample storage space. After placing the dining table and chairs, the corridor is already quite narrow, and the circulation is not convenient. The guest bedroom corridor cabinet is not utilized properly, resulting in wasted space. The master bedroom lacks storage, and the corridor between the master bedroom, study, and second bedroom is somewhat elongated, not making good use of the long circulation line for functional planning or to enhance spatial perception. The bathroom area is also functionally chaotic, causing interference during use. The designer, in the entryway design, still opts to maintain spatial openness, avoiding screens or the like at the entrance. Instead, various storage functions are arranged along the walls, keeping the area as open as possible, which is actually very effective in small apartments. The guest bathroom dry area did not remove the partition wall but instead created a partial hollow, ensuring openness while preserving privacy. The wash area is relatively disorganized during normal use, but this approach preserves the integrity of the main space's effect. The wall between the study and the corridor was removed to increase the sense of space. To ensure the master bedroom's spaciousness, the master bedroom's wardrobe area borrowed some space from the guest bedroom. This approach fully utilizes the island area of the apartment, making this area usable from all directions, resulting in a very high space utilization rate. It also breaks away from the traditional planning of placing the wardrobe on one side of the bed. The bathroom area is separated as much as possible and stands independently when feasible.
Before foyer design
The original entry space was disorganized, with the kitchen's layout separating the living and dining areas, resulting in a small sense of space and poor interaction.

Visible transformations in the open dining and kitchen area. The island and large dining table setup was unimaginable in the previous space. Storage capacity has significantly increased. Standing in the kitchen and looking into the living room, the deep depth showcases the apartment's character. Instead of knocking down the wall of the bathroom wash area, a hole was created, featuring an open partition design. Maintaining privacy and cleanliness, it also expands the sense of openness in the space.

Secondary bathroom view

The guest bathroom retains an externally mounted washbasin for convenience, ensuring no interference between the inside and outside. The washing machine's drying function can be placed in the standing space if possible. The noise and duration of the dryer are designed to minimize disruption to the public area's living experience. Tiles are installed using large-sized tiles and thin adhesive. The design is simple yet elegant. The medicine cabinet ensures the cleanliness of the bathroom cabinet area. There is basically no problem with the bathroom before and after moving in. The high cabinet next to the washing machine houses various equipment and a laundry basket, all for the sake of functionality. In terms of aesthetics, there is a preference for matte tiles. The main color is plain, with occasional textures or colors for embellishment. The windows use built-in blinds, despite the relatively low risk of failure, they were chosen for the living experience.

The guest bedroom is a space that enhances the atmosphere. Zen-like branch-style table lamps instantly boost the visual appeal. In the small space, there's no excessive decoration, instead, it's kept as minimalist as possible, allowing for a sense of expansion. Avoid feeling cramped is preferable.
