Fire-resistant windows refer to windows that, along with their frames, can meet the requirements for fire resistance stability and integrity within a specified period. When there is a lack of fire separation between the exterior walls of two buildings, or between spaces separated by fire partitions, and there is a need for natural light and ventilation, fire-resistant windows should be used.
Fireproof Window Categories:
Fixed Fire Window: A fire-resistant window without an opening sash.
Operable fire window: A fire-resistant window with operable sashes and equipped with a sash opening/closing control device.
Insulation Fireproof Windows (Type A): Fireproof windows that can simultaneously meet the requirements for fire resistance integrity and insulation within a specified time.
Non-insulating fire-resistant windows (Class C): Fire-resistant windows that can meet the requirements of fire resistance integrity within the specified time. Divided by the fire resistance limit and insulating performance:
Fire-resistant window selection:
Fire-resistant windows are made of steel, available in two grades: Grade A (fire resistance of 1.20 hours) and Grade B (fire resistance of 0.90 hours).
Fire-resistant windows are primarily used in the fire-resistant walls of high-rise buildings, requiring the use of Class A fire-resistant windows that can close automatically.
If the horizontal distance between windows and doors near either side of the fire-resistant wall is less than 2 meters, Class B fire-resistant windows should be used.
In addition to residential buildings, kitchens in all other structures should be equipped with Class B fire-resistant windows.
In the case of windows being opened in the partition walls of corridors in Class 1 and 2 fire-resistant buildings, grade B fire-resistant windows should be used.
