The name "Prosperity in the Head" beautifully conveys its meaning, symbolizing good fortune, smooth sailing, and auspiciousness.
Due to its red color, it exudes a festive vibe. Placed during the Spring Festival or other joyous occasions, it effectively sets the mood for celebration. Keeping it at home not only brings good fortune to the family but also symbolizes harmony and happiness within the household.
Cultivation Methods for a Prosperous Future
Lighting: Place in diffused light, avoid direct sunlight. Especially in summer, shade is necessary to prevent leaf burn. Additionally, do not place it in low light, as it may fade the colors and diminish the viewing appeal.
Temperature: Hongyun Dangtou prefers a warm growing environment. It should be placed indoors during winter to maintain a room temperature above 10 degrees Celsius. If the temperature is too low, the plant may be frostbitten.
Irrigation: Avoid overwatering the "Happy Fortune at the Top" plant. When growing indoors, water the potting soil only when it's relatively dry, not keeping it constantly moist to prevent root rot due to excess water in the pot. To maintain higher humidity, you can add a small amount of water inside the base leaf cup.
Fertilization: Hongyun Dangtou has a long blooming period, sometimes lasting up to half a year. During maintenance, simply apply a nitrogen-phosphorus-potassium compound fertilizer once a month to replenish nutrients, but do not overdo it. In the cooler autumn and winter months, when temperatures are low, stop fertilizing.
Post-bloom care: After Hongyun Dangtou flowers bloom, the petals will gradually wither, and the plant will turn yellow and wither as well. This is a normal physiological phenomenon. If there are seedlings growing at the base of the parent plant, they can be transplanted and cultivated. Once grown, they will bloom normally.
