Intelligent street lamps will be based on road lighting poles, integrating public security, traffic signals, communication, and traffic signs into one, achieving the consolidation of multiple poles, reducing road signs, and releasing public space resources. At the same time, as an important carrier for smart city construction, intelligent street lamps will serve as gateways for the Internet of Things, playing a greater "integrated" role. As a densely and evenly distributed information infrastructure in the city, street lamp posts are considered an optimal carrier for outdoor 5G base station coverage. Driven by smart city and 5G base station construction, they will gradually transform from a single lighting function to a new type of public infrastructure.
According to information, the smart streetlights on Zhongyuan Road in Xiangyang City emphasize the integration of multiple poles during construction, implementing intensive settings for various pole facilities to achieve joint construction, sharing, and interconnectivity. The smart pole in the North Street features single-sided lighting, an antique design, highlighting the historical and cultural characteristics of the ancient city. It also includes additional applications such as charging stations, 5G base stations, public WiFi, surveillance cameras, and LED displays.
