Shanghai is a national historic city with a large number of existing historical buildings. According to the "Regulations on the Protection of Historical and Cultural Areas and Historical Buildings in Shanghai", if any problems affecting safety or normal use are found during the use of historical buildings, if their functional or local structural changes occur, if they continue to serve beyond their designed service life, or before renovation or major repairs, they must undergo testing and evaluation. According to the Interim Regulations on Quality Inspection and Management of Modern Buildings in Shanghai and the Shanghai Regulations on Quality Inspection of BuildingsDGJ08-79-2008For the inspection and evaluation of historical buildings, in addition to routine safety testing, it is also necessary to conduct historical evolution investigation, architectural style analysis, key protection area testing, architectural and structural drawing surveying, equipment operation and damage investigation, and evaluate the seismic performance of the structure according to seismic identification standards. The testing plan and report of the historical building inspection and evaluation project must be submitted to the Municipal Housing Inspection Center for technical review. I have completed multiple historical building inspection and evaluation projects, with representative projects including Xuhui Middle School Chongsi Building, Muen Hall, International Chapel, Jade Buddha Temple, Donghai Building, Hualian Shopping Mall, Great World, and the protected building complex along the Bund Passage project.
