As people's living standards continue to rise, so does their demand for environmental conditions. Traditional urban and rural garbage stations can no longer meet the new concepts of environmental protection, energy conservation, and low consumption. Therefore, the promotion of compact garbage stations is imperative. Compact garbage transfer stations, with their small land occupation, rational space structure, strong sealing, and high waste treatment efficiency, have been widely applied, especially fixed-type garbage compaction equipment.
A crucial indicator for a waste compaction station is the compaction ratio. To ensure the compaction ratio, a pressure hold is necessary for a certain distance as the press head advances. Then, the press head retracts while unloading, and a new cycle begins until full compaction is achieved. However, determining when full compaction is reached, especially without a weight sensor, poses a challenge.

To achieve the stroke control for the head reciprocation, a magnetostrictive displacement sensor is required. In the conventional compression cycle, maintain pressure at certain strokes of the head advancement, then retract after the holding time is reached. Set different holding times at various strokes of the head advancement. When the compression chamber is about to be filled, push and compress several times consecutively to obtain a full signal.
By utilizing the aforementioned electronic control technology, it significantly reduces the volume of the electronic control device, lowers costs, improves the safety working environment for sanitation workers, alleviates labor intensity, enhances operational efficiency, thereby effectively achieving a higher degree of automation in the waste transfer process.
Waste compaction equipment operates in harsh environments, where hydraulic cylinders may frequently be submerged in oil and water, necessitating protective measures for the displacement sensors. Additionally, the hydraulic cylinder is a double-ear ring type, and space constraints on-site require the use of a magnetostrictive displacement sensor product.

The entire sensor is fully embedded within the cylinder, with only a high-protection junction exposed on the cylinder side.
The magnetostrictive displacement sensor is specifically designed for built-in installation in hydraulic cylinders, offering an ideal displacement measurement solution for compact hydraulic cylinders with limited space. This sensor features a wider operating temperature range, suitable for various industrial applications.
Compared to proximity switches or pull绳 encoders used on garbage compactor trucks, magnetostrictive displacement sensors offer distinct advantages:
Touchless measurement, longer lifespan
Fully embedded within the hydraulic cylinder, offering higher protective performance.
Higher linear accuracy ensures the synchronous operation of the two hydraulic cylinders.
