Function and signal output methods of wire/rope displacement sensors
The linear displacement sensor utilizes the circumference of the take-up wheel to measure the length of an object. If that's not clear, you can also liken the linear displacement sensor to a ruler. By measuring the change in the length of the pull绳, it determines the corresponding displacement, which is then converted into a pulse output with the corresponding precision – essentially converting displacement into a digital quantity.
I. Function of the wire displacement distance sensor:
1. The position sensor converts the angular change of an internal single or multi-turn potentiometer into a linear displacement change at the external connection end through a series of mechanical structures, and outputs this change in various signal forms as either an analog or digital quantity.
2. Due to its soft钢丝output, it can be transitioned through pulleys, drums, and other mechanisms, allowing for installation not aligned with the movement direction of the item being measured. Thus, the rope tension sensor offers unparalleled flexibility and adaptability in installation and use compared to electronic rulers.
3. Convert mechanical motion into measurable, recordable, or transmittable electrical signals. Sensors can be encoders, rotary potentiometers, synchronizers, or analyzers. Common parameters include measurement stroke, output signal type, resolution, operating voltage, and more.

Section 2: Signal Output Methods for Wire Distance Displacement Sensors:
The signal output methods of wire displacement sensors commonly include digital pulse output and analog signal output.
1. Digital outputs can be selected with incremental rotary encoders, value encoders, etc., offering output signals such as ABZ square wave, sine/cosine wave, CANopen, free RS485, MODBUS, Profibus, or Gray/binary code signals. Measurement stroke length is 100-15,000mm, with high accuracy (up to ~%FS), and IP65 protection class. Both the housing and the line wheel are corrosion-resistant treated, and the traction rope is made of 316 stainless steel wire, suitable for operation in harsh environments. Optional output types include resistive, voltage, current, incremental pulse, and pulse.
2. Analog output options include precision potentiometers, Hall effect encoders, and value encoders, with output signals ranging from 4-20mA, 0-5V, 0-10V, and resistance signals. Stroke can reach up to 12,500mm, and the usage environment can achieve an IP65 protection level, suitable for wide temperature ranges from -45°C to +105°C.
