Mezzanine shelving systems are built on top of existing workspaces or shelves to create an intermediate mezzanine, thereby increasing storage space. They can be designed as a two or three-tiered mezzanine, suitable for easy access and retrieval.
Some light and small to medium-sized goods are suitable for multiple varieties in large quantities or in small batches, and manual handling of goods. The goods are typically transported to the second or third floor by forklifts, hydraulic lifts, or conveyors, and then delivered to a specific location using light carts or hydraulic trolleys. Such systems usually employ medium-duty or heavy-duty shelving units as the main supports for the floor panels (the choice of shelving is determined by the total load capacity of the unit shelves), with the floor panels often made of cold-rolled steel, patterned steel, or steel grating.
