There are two common types of freestanding cabinets found in museums: one is the pillar-style freestanding cabinet, used for the maintenance of cultural relics exhibits, and the other is a large freestanding cabinet. Depending on their construction, these two types of freestanding cabinets can be further divided into tall base freestanding cabinets and thin base freestanding cabinets.
The base of a high pedestal column-style independent cabinet elevates the display plane of the cabinet, allowing for minor height adjustments of the displayed items with brackets. Suitable for cultural and museum exhibits, the base is also used for storage and installation of temperature and humidity control equipment. Typically, a cold light source lighting system is installed at the top of the high pedestal column-style independent cabinet.
