Fiberglass Reinforced Plastic (FRP) electrical conduits, also known as glass fiber reinforced plastic tubes, are bonded and formed with glass fibers and unsaturated resins. They are categorized into low alkali, medium alkali, and high alkali types, with quality determined by the alkali content. These FRP conduits are strong in pressure resistance, lightweight, with smooth inner walls, and have a low friction coefficient, making them easy to install cables without damaging them. FRP electrical conduits serve as protective devices for power and communication cables in underground installations, providing protection against external pressure or impacts.
It is widely used in power cable projects, transmission and transformation construction, communication and optical cable line projects, submarine and river-crossing cable protection projects, aviation airports, road and bridge traffic, industrial park cable projects, and underground cable projects for municipal construction; it can also be applied to civil and industrial water supply and wastewater discharge projects.
Glass steel pipe is characterized by:
Insulating, resistant to acid, alkali, salt corrosion, antistatic, non-rusting, and不易ageing, with an application lifespan of over 50 years.
2. Non-magnetic, non-corrosive, with excellent waterproof capabilities, suitable for temporary use in damp conditions or water without degradation.
3. High strength, over 6 times the thickness of equivalent PE pipe, lightweight, with a smooth inner wall, low friction coefficient during cable piercing, causing no damage to the cable.
4. Heat-resistant, frost-proof, and fire-retardant. It can be temporarily used at temperatures ranging from -35 to 139°C without burning when exposed to fire.
5. High tortional modulus of elasticity, strong impact resistance, and has resolved the issues of metal pipes being prone to corrosion and lack of twist elasticity.
6. When cables cross bridges or rivers, using glass steel conduits is more economical and suitable.
7. Construction and installation are extremely lightweight, no need for reinforcing steel or concrete pouring.
