Bronze sculptures are one type of sculpture art. Bronze is a popular metal for casting sculptures; casting bronze sculptures is commonly referred to as "bronze." It can be used individually or in sets for statues, bas-reliefs, and miniatures, as well as for bronze elements that can be mounted on furniture and other objects. Standard bronze alloys possess an unusual ideal property, that is, they slightly expand before solidifying, filling the fine details of the mold. Then, as the bronze cools, it contracts slightly, making it easier to separate from the mold. When creating moving figures, their strength and ductility (nonbrittle) are an advantage.
