The double-suction pump, as an important type of centrifugal pump, is widely used in engineering due to its high head and large flow rate characteristics. The impeller of this pump type is actually composed of two impellers placed back-to-back, with the water exiting the impellers flowing into a volute. The double-suction pump features include: it functions as two single-suction impellers of the same diameter simultaneously, doubling the flow rate at the same impeller outer diameter; the pump casing is horizontally split for easy inspection and maintenance; the inlets and outlets of the double-suction pump are in the same direction and perpendicular to the pump shaft, which facilitates the arrangement and installation of the pump and the water inlets and outlets; the impeller structure is symmetrical, without axial force, ensuring smoother operation.
