Construction Method:
1. Basic Repair Treatment. The first step in renovating old walls is to perform basic repair treatment. When dealing with the base, we can use tools like wire brushes or electric grinders to clean the walls. For old coatings with an extremely high bond strength to the base, if cleaning is difficult, we can use paint strippers and other solvents to treat the base of the wall, allowing the paint on the old surface to swell before scraping it off.
2. After repairing cracks in the cement mortar wall, treat with waterproof cement mortar or waterproofing agent, then apply two coats of water-repellent agent before painting. For refinishing old ceramic tiles and granite facades, remove the old decorative layer with a steel chisel, then apply cement mortar and proceed with the painting.
3. Coating Materials. After repairing the walls and applying the putty, we can proceed to apply the paint. For paints, we can opt for emulsion architectural paint, solvent-based architectural paint, or inorganic paint. These types of coatings have good environmental performance and cause minimal harm to humans. As for the application process, we recommend painting from top to bottom to ensure even coverage. Typically, two coats are applied, and it's important to wait until the first coat is at least 80% dry before applying the second coat.
