Carbon fiber cloth reinforced repair technology is a new type of strengthening method, primarily used for the reinforcement and repair of concrete structures. Compared to traditional methods such as increasing the concrete cross-section or reinforcing concrete with steel bars, carbon fiber offers advantages like space-saving, simplified construction, no need for on-site fixation equipment, easy quality control, and minimal increase in structural size and weight. Additionally, it boasts excellent corrosion and durability. Furthermore, using this technique can significantly extend the service life of buildings and reduce reinforcement costs. As a groundbreaking reinforcing material, carbon fiber is highly favored and attracting attention.
Carbon fiber reinforcement technology involves reinforcing building components using carbon fiber fabric and structural adhesives. The strength of the carbon fiber fabric used in this technology is approximately 10 times that of ordinary Grade 2 steel. It boasts high strength, low weight, excellent corrosion and durability resistance, and essentially does not increase the cross-section of the components. It allows the carbon fiber fabric to work in conjunction with the original components, making it a novel reinforcement method.

Therefore, in structural reinforcement, it is important to choose high-performance and quality carbon fiber and resin. However, we often overlook a problem, which is the matching issue between the resin and the carbon fiber. This is similar to the principle in our daily lives, like with chargers; if they are produced by the same factory, their compatibility performance is quite good.
Generally, carbon cloth and impregnated resin produced by the same manufacturer are well-matched and excellent. This is because they are designed to have good compatibility with the same quality, resulting in superior bonding performance. For instance, with Shiban carbon fiber cloth and carbon fiber impregnated resin, Shiban has developed a matching impregnated resin that boasts excellent bonding compatibility, significantly enhancing the tensile strength of the carbon fiber cloth.
In most cases, temperature cracks do not directly affect the structure's use, but if not addressed and repaired promptly, they can cause certain adverse effects on normal operation, even turning into non-essential elements, such as severe leakage in roofs or walls, or even the falling off of wall plaster. Generally, temperature cracks can be sealed with cement mortar, resin mortar, or cement grout.
"After discovering cracks, it is the responsibility of the planners and contractors to determine the nature of the cracks and to ascertain whether they are structural cracks." The worker at the Construction Quality Supervision Station said, "Once the nature of the cracks is established, the responsible party should communicate with the residents and then provide a detailed repair plan for the cracks."
1. Mortar base, hardener, and curing accelerator are weighed according to the specified proportions, placed in containers, and mixed thoroughly using a mixer.
2. Fill the concave areas of the components with putty to even out the surface. Correct to achieve a smooth exterior. When using putty for repairs, work under temperatures above -5℃ and relative humidity below 85%. After applying the putty, sand down any remaining high and low textures on the surface with sandpaper.
3. Apply primer / Spread the pre-mixed primer (adhesive) evenly on the concrete surface to be bonded with a roller.
4. Prior to applying carbon fiber or carbon fiber materials, it is crucial to acknowledge that the surface can appear dull. No construction is to be carried out if the temperature is above -10℃ and the relative humidity (RH) is greater than 85% without effective measures. To prevent damage to the carbon fiber materials during transportation, storage, cutting, and application, use a steel ruler and wallpaper knife to cut the materials to the specified dimensions, with each piece typically not exceeding 6 meters in length. To avoid damage during storage, cut the materials according to the day's usage. The longitudinal joints of the carbon fiber must overlap by at least 500px. More resin should be applied to this area, and there is no need to overlap the carbon fiber laterally.
