The MK2300i series is a bi-amp high-output trapezoidal speaker system, suitable for use as a main loudspeaker in small venues. Its applications cover small religious venues, auditoriums/theatres, audio-visual integration systems, hotel dance halls, and meeting rooms. The system can also function as a distributed or supplementary speaker in large venues. Its applications include large religious venues, auditoriums/theatres, arenas, stadiums, nightclubs, and multi-functional themed entertainment venues.
To achieve the design objectives of the application, EAW engineers have developed a brand new high-performance compression driver unit, with a mouth diameter of 1.4 inches and a voice coil diameter of 3 inches. It is mounted on one of six different horns, covering an angle range from 60°×45° to 120°×60°. Horns of a size comparable to the enclosure maintain consistent directivity across the entire high-frequency passband. The speaker is complemented by a 12-inch low-frequency driver unit with a 3-inch voice coil, enhancing the sound quality and output of the high-frequency driver. All MK2300i models are meticulously tuned for consistent sound, allowing the use of different horns in a single fixed installation without sacrificing audio coherence. Compared to speakers of similar specifications and pricing, this model delivers clear high-fidelity sound at a higher sound pressure level.
Users can choose between mono-amp operation mode and dual-amp (external signal processor) operation mode. Regardless of the mode selected, EAW's beam-width matching crossover/filter design ensures a uniform power response across the crossover region, overcoming the discontinuous power response issue found in other bi-amp speakers.
The MK2300i series systems are companion speakers for the MK5300i series. Both series share the same cabinet height, making them ideal for fixed installations requiring multiple horn coverage or a variety of speaker performance. Additionally, the SBK series subwoofers also have the same height, allowing for the use of EAW's pre-configured suspension brackets to create a visually appealing array.
