Couplings, also known as couplings, are mechanical components used to firmly connect the driving and driven shafts of different mechanisms for simultaneous rotation, while transmitting motion and torque. They are also sometimes used to connect shafts to other parts (such as gears, pulleys, etc.). Typically, they consist of two halves that are connected by keys or tight fits, secured at both ends of the shafts, and then joined together in some manner. Common couplings are generally standardized or specified. Typically, it's just a matter of selecting the correct type of coupling, determining the model and size. In case of necessity, a load capacity check calculation can be performed on the vulnerable parts. When operating at high speeds, centrifugal forces on the outer periphery and deformation of the elastic elements must also be verified, along with balance checks.
