High-aluminum balls are widely used in the precision and deep processing of thick and hard materials in various factories, such as ceramics, porcelain glaze, glass, chemical industry, etc., due to their superior properties like high strength, hardness, wear resistance, high specific gravity, small volume, high-temperature resistance, corrosion resistance, and non-pollution.
For example, a high aluminum ball with a 92% content should have a specific gravity (density) of over 3.60 and an alumina content of more than 91.5%, with low iron content. With the same raw material, formula, and firing temperature, the finer the powder fineness after the raw material is ground, the higher the specific gravity, and the better the wear resistance. The specific gravity of high aluminum balls is mainly affected by the powder and firing process; factors such as underfiring, excessively coarse powder, and the addition of impurities can lead to insufficient specific gravity in the balls. Balls with low specific gravity are not wear-resistant and prone to cracking, but a high specific gravity does not necessarily mean the balls are wear-resistant, as overfired balls can also achieve a high specific gravity.
