Cutters are used for processing the tooth profiles of gears. According to the working principle of the cutter, gears are divided into form-cutting gear cutters and generating gear cutters. Common form-cutting gear cutters include disc gear milling cutters and finger gear cutters, etc. Common generating gear cutters include hob cutters, gear shapers, and gear skiving cutters, etc. When selecting hob cutters and hob cutters, the following points should be noted:
(1) Basic parameters of the cutting tool (modulus, helix angle, coefficient of tooth height, etc.) should match the processed gear.
(2) The cutting tool accuracy grade should be equivalent to the required accuracy grade of the gear to be machined.
(3) The direction of the cutting tool should be as similar as possible to the rotation direction of the gear being machined. For rolling straight gears, a left-hand thread cutting tool is generally used.
Automated Lines and CNC Machine Tool Cutting Tools
These cutting tools, overall, do not differ much from general刀具. However, to accommodate the characteristics of CNC machine tools and automatic production lines, higher requirements are placed on them.
