Glass fiber reinforced plastic (GFRP) grating covers offer high impact resistance, allowing for repeated bending without permanent deformation, whereas metal grating tends to retain permanent deformation upon impact, necessitating correction. The GFRP grating covers feature moderate elasticity, making them comfortable for workers to operate on, reducing the sense of tension in their legs and back, minimizing accidents, and enhancing productivity. Visually, the GFRP anti-slip plates are made by blending pigment into the entire resin, resulting in vibrant colors that are resistant to fading and do not require painting. Unlike paint, which is limited to the surface, the smooth, resin-impregnated surface and slanted internal and external surfaces of the grating provide self-cleaning properties. Even with dirt, it is easy to clean with water or detergent, keeping the GFRP grating cover surface looking as new.
Fiberglass reinforced plastic (FRP) deck plates are formed by simultaneously laminating FRP flat sheets and solidifying them into one unit through dense connections with glass fiber chopped strand mat and FRP pultruded grids. The surface of the deck grids can be smooth, anti-slip sand finish, or anti-slip patterned finish. The standard thickness of the deck grids is typically 2.5mm, but can be customized according to customer specifications. Deck grids are commonly used in sealed areas, such as for wastewater treatment facilities, where they provide corrosion resistance and odor control. Anti-slip glass fiber reinforced plastic grid deck plates can also be used as ramps, manhole covers, and trench covers. During installation, deck plates can be securely fastened to support structures using countersunk screws for added safety.
Advantages of fiberglass deck covers:
● fiberglass cover plate is lightweight: its density is around 1.8, weighing only 1/4 of steel and 2/3 of aluminum.
● High-strength fiberglass cover plate: Its strength is ten times that of rigid PVC, significantly exceeds aluminum, and reaches the level of ordinary steel.
● Glass reinforced plastic cover plate is corrosion-resistant: It is rustproof, moldproof, rotproof, and does not require painting, capable of withstanding corrosion from many gases and liquid mediums.
● Glass Reinforced Plastic (GRP) Decking Fatigue Resistance: The FRP grating has some elasticity, which makes it comfortable for those working on it for extended periods. As a work platform, it reduces the strain on workers' legs and back, enhancing comfort and thereby increasing work efficiency, earning the recommendation of ergonomists.
● The FRP cover plate offers excellent overall economic benefits: Compared to ordinary carbon steel, the FRP grating has a lower overall cost, although its initial investment is higher. Due to its long service life, typically up to twenty years, and the fact that it requires no maintenance, its overall economic benefits are significantly superior to those of carbon steel.
● Easy Installation of Glass Fiber Reinforced Plastic (GFRP) Cover Plates: The use of FRP grids significantly reduces the weight of the components, thereby decreasing the weight of the supporting structure. Installation does not require lifting equipment, saving both time and effort.
● FRP Cover Plate Safety: During the installation and use of FRP grating, there is no risk of sparking due to collisions, making it particularly suitable for use in flammable and explosive environments. Additionally, the non-slip surface layer of the grating prevents slipping and reduces accidents.
