Since the load is directly connected to the rotor, no transmission parts are required, making the torque motor a direct drive technology. The torque motor is also known as a "frameless" motor, meaning it lacks a housing, bearings, or measuring system. These components are selected by the machine manufacturer based on the required performance or purchased as a complete set.

The motor's modular, ring-shaped ultra-thin structure is particularly suitable for applications with stringent requirements for space dimensions and weight.
