Chemical Cleaning Scale Removal Process

Recirculating closed-loop cleaning

Recirculating cleaning utilizes two original parallel deslagging pipelines to form a circuit, creating a recirculation system with the cleaning pump station. A solution of a certain concentration is added, which circulates within the sludge water pipeline for cleaning purposes. Additionally, as the acid cleaning reaches a certain point, the solution is continuously replenished. For short-distance single sludge water pipelines, if conditions permit, a temporary pipeline can be installed to form a recirculation circuit for cleaning. This process must be carried out during shutdown and is complex and costly.

Open Channel Cleaning

No two gray pipes should form a loop during cleaning; only single gray pipe open-loop cleaning is allowed. The method involves connecting one end of the gray pipe to the cleaning device, continuously preparing a certain concentration of cleaning solution in the dosing tank, and then injecting it into the gray pipe continuously or intermittently. This process requires additional cleaning equipment when the system is shut down, which increases the cost.

Continuous cleaning without shutdown

The process involves continuously injecting a certain amount of acidic solution while the ash pipeline is operating normally and not shut down. Simultaneously, a specific quantity of ash pipeline operation cleaning inhibitor and pipeline descaling agent is added for open-loop cleaning. The primary function of the cleaning aid is to promote the reaction between the acidic solution and ash scale at a certain concentration and flow rate, while also increasing its solubility in water, reducing the occurrence of air blockage, and ensuring the quality of ash pipeline cleaning.

The procedure is as follows: Before cleaning, first estimate the required acid amount based on the total scale in the pipeline. Then, calculate the acid addition rate and the flow rate of the descaling agent and pipeline cleaner by considering the sludge water flow rate and acidity. During cleaning, take a sample at the front end of the sludge pipe every 30 minutes to test the acidity and strictly control it by adjusting the acid flow rate. In the later stage of cleaning, take a sample at the end of the sludge pipe every 15 minutes to test the pH value. When the pH value reaches a certain level and remains unchanged for 30 minutes, the cleaning can be deemed complete.

2. High-pressure water jet cleaning machinery
High-pressure water jet cleaning offers high efficiency, low costs, non-damaging to workpieces, environmental friendliness, ease of operation, and safety.
High-pressure water technology boasts the following advantages.

(1) High-quality Cleaning: The high-pressure water jet cleaning for pipelines and heat exchanger bores effectively removes all scale and obstructions within, revealing the metal substrate. 3. Pipe Scale

(1) Classified by chemical composition, they include carbonate scale, sulfate scale, silicate scale, and mixed scale, etc. The main components of carbonate scale are calcium carbonate and magnesium carbonate; the main components of sulfate scale and silicate scale are calcium sulfate and silicate compounds, respectively.

(2) Classified by physical properties, there are two types: scale that firmly adheres to the pot shell and pipe walls, and sediments that are loose and easily detachable.
Scale primarily forms due to the salts containing calcium and magnesium in the boiler feedwater, which precipitate and adhere to the metal surface upon heating. The thermal conductivity of scale is very low, approximately 2 to 5 times that of ordinary steel. Scale buildup on the boiler's heat transfer surface significantly worsens the heat transfer efficiency, affecting the boiler's performance; it can easily lead to the deterioration of metal materials due to local overheating, potentially causing tube explosion accidents; it also accelerates galvanic corrosion, leading to pipeline scale corrosion and speeding up the damage to the heat transfer surface.
