Three types of dry mix drum loaders. Most commonly used with wet mix concrete trucks, which transport concrete produced at mixing plants or mixed aggregates (sand, gravel), cement, and water. During transportation, the wet materials are slowly agitated to prevent initial setting and segregation of the concrete. However, the time from production to pouring is generally no more than 1.5 hours to prevent concrete from setting. Therefore, for long-distance transportation, dry mix and semi-dry mix concrete transport trucks are required. Dry mix concrete transport trucks can directly load dry aggregates and cement into the drum, where they are mixed during transportation. Water is added to complete the mixing when the vehicle arrives at the construction site. Semi-dry mix concrete transport trucks also carry concrete with aggregates and cement mixed in proportion, along with water, though the water content does not meet pouring requirements and must be added with water at the construction site for mixing.
