ISO Certification Application Requirements

1. Chinese enterprises hold a "Corporate Legal Person Business License" issued by the administrative department of industry and commerce; foreign enterprises hold a registration with the relevant government authorities.

2. Product quality is consistent and capable of regular mass production. Consistent quality refers to the product passing continuous random inspections for over a year. Products produced in small batches do not represent the stability of product quality, and only enterprises that produce products in formal bulk quantities can apply for certification.

3. Products comply with regional and industry standards, as well as supplementary technical requirements, or with standards confirmed by the standardization administrative authority. The standards referred to here are regional or industry standards of *level. Confirmation of whether products meet the standards is subject to sampling by inspection agencies approved and confirmed by the regional quality and technical supervision bureau.

4. The quality system established by the manufacturing enterprise complies with the requirements of the GB/T19000-ISO9000 family of quality standards, establishes an applicable quality standard system (generally selecting ISO9002 to establish the quality system), and ensures its effective operation.

ISO Certification Validity

Generally, the validity of ISO9001 is 3 years.

However, the prerequisite is that the company must submit to the supervision and audit of the certification body, i.e., the annual review.

The frequency of supervision and audit is generally once every 12 months, or once a year, hence the term "annual audit."

Some companies may differ, with certification bodies requiring an annual audit every 6 or 10 months.
