A roller, also known as a soil compactor, is a road construction equipment. It falls under the category of road machinery and is widely used in large-scale projects such as expressways, railways, airport runways, dams, and sports stadiums for filling and compaction work. Rollers can compact sandy, semi-adhesive, and adhesive soils, as well as subgrade stable soil and asphalt concrete pavement layers. Operating on the principle of the machine's own weight, rollers are suitable for various compaction tasks, causing deformation and compactness in the rolled layers. Rollers are divided into two types: steel-wheeled and tire-wheeled.
