Description

Wear on industrial elbows has always been a factor affecting safe and civilized production. With the continuous development of science and technology, materials have also been evolving, leading to the emergence of cast stone, cast steel, alloys, centrifugal casting composite ceramics, and other materials. Among them, aluminum oxide ceramic linings for pipes, known for their high wear resistance, hardness, oxidation and corrosion resistance, and excellent strength at both high and low temperatures, have become a widely used wear-resistant material, accounting for about 80% of the world's special ceramics market share (wear-resistant materials).

Widely distributed across industries with severe wear, such as thermal power, iron and steel, smelting, cement, machinery, coal, mining, chemical, and port terminals.

Wear-resistant elbows are made by bonding special alumina abrasion-resistant ceramic tiles to the inner surface of steel pipe elbows with a high-temperature, strong adhesive. This solution addresses the severe wear issue in elbows for conveying materials in industries such as power generation, metallurgy, steel, and cement. The combination of steel pipe elbows and ceramic tile bonding facilitates quick replacement and installation. Depending on working conditions, different production processes can be employed, including direct bonding, bolted clamping, or one-piece molding. The one-piece molding method for medium pipes (RHS) involves using selected alumina particles, which are sintered into inner lining pipes through various molding techniques. These pipes are then cast inside the steel pipe with a special filling material. Unlike ceramic composite pipes formed by self-ignition technology, these pipes have the same ceramic crystal lining as the bonded tiles. Their advantages include a smooth inner wall and excellent wear resistance, making them suitable for high-quality material conveying and ash removal systems.


The ceramic assembly method using bolt clamping involves triple fixation: adhesive bonding, ceramic sheet interlocking, and bolt clamping. Due to the triple fixation method, the ceramic becomes an integral part of the equipment, ensuring that it will not detach even at temperatures above 1000°C. In recent years, with the accelerated development of China's power construction and the continuous promotion of new technologies and materials, wear-resistant elbows have been applied in dozens of new power plant projects across the country, with excellent performance and widespread promotion.

Centrifugal casting composite tubes are manufactured using the "self-igniting high-temperature synthesis-hyper-speed centrifugal technology," forming a uniform, dense, and smooth ceramic layer and transition layer under high temperature and high-speed conditions. Additionally, the ceramic at working temperatures of 850 to 900 degrees Celsius does not fall off, and they are relatively lightweight. The composite ceramic is abrasion-resistant due to its hardness, solving the past issue of using thickness for abrasion resistance. Currently, they are highly effective in industries with severe wear, such as straight tubes, elbows, bends, and tees.

Composite pipes fully utilize the high strength, good toughness, impact resistance, and excellent welding properties of steel pipes, along with the high hardness, wear resistance, corrosion resistance, and heat resistance of alumina ceramic, overcoming the shortcomings of steel pipes such as low hardness, poor wear resistance, and poor toughness of ceramics. Therefore, composite pipes have excellent comprehensive properties, including wear resistance, heat resistance, corrosion resistance, and resistance to mechanical and thermal shock, as well as good weldability. They are suitable for conveying abrasive materials, grinding, corrosive media, and other wear and corrosion-resistant pipelines.
