Glass钢管, also known as Reinforced Plastic Mat (RPM) pipes, primarily use glass fiber and its products as reinforcement materials. The basic materials include unsaturated polyester resins, epoxy resins, etc., with high molecular components. The main raw materials consist of inorganic, non-metallic granular materials such as quartz sand and calcium carbonate. The pipe lengths are available in 6m and 12m, and they are produced using three methods: fixed-length winding, centrifugal casting, and continuous winding. The pipes are categorized based on the production method, pressure class PN, and stiffness class SN.
Glass steel pipes have been applied in industries such as oil, electricity, chemical, papermaking, urban water supply and drainage, factory wastewater treatment, seawater desalination, and gas transmission, thanks to their smooth inner surface, low energy consumption in transportation, convenient transportation and installation, low maintenance costs, and overall low cost.
As China's urbanization accelerates, facing the balance and protection of population, resources, and the environment, investments in urban infrastructure are increasingly made year by year. In line with the need for science and technology, the variety and specifications of pipes and fittings are continually expanding, with production volumes on the rise. Particularly, the development of plastic pipes is swift, with glass-steel pipes being one of them.
