7A09 Aluminum RodThis is a super-hard aluminum alloy belonging to the Al-Zn-Mg-Cu series, which has been widely used in the aviation industry since its application in aircraft manufacturing in the late 1940s and remains a highly utilized ultra-high-strength deformed aluminum alloy today.7A09 Aluminum RodCharacteristics include good plasticity after solution heat treatment, exceptional strengthening effects by heat treatment, high strength below 150°C, and excellent low-temperature strength; poor welding properties; tendency to stress corrosion cracking; requires aluminum clad or other protective treatment for use. Double aging can enhance the alloy's resistance to stress corrosion cracking. The plasticity is slightly lower than that of 2A12 aluminum plates in both annealed and quenched states. It is slightly superior to 7A04 aluminum plates, with better static fatigue and notch sensitivity, and superior stress corrosion properties compared to 7A04 aluminum plates.
Usage:
7A09 Aluminum RodPrimarily used for manufacturing high-strength, corrosion-resistant structural components with high stress, such as upper and lower wing surface panels, trusses, etc., on aircraft. After solid solution treatment, it exhibits good plasticity and effective heat treatment strengthening. It maintains excellent strength below 150 degrees Celsius and particularly good low-temperature strength. It has poor welding properties and a tendency to develop stress corrosion cracking.7A09 Aluminum RodAlso widely used in mold manufacturing, machinery and equipment, fixture tools, aerospace and aviation industry, blow molding (bottle) molds, ultrasonic welding molds, golf ball heads, shoe molds, paper-plastic molds, foam forming molds, dewaxing molds, machinery and equipment for making high-end aluminum alloy bicycle frames.
