A square hollow section (SHS) tube, also known as steel cold-drawn aluminum profiles, is a lightweight thick-walled seamless steel tube with a square cross-section. It is produced by cold bending and forming hot-rolled or cold-rolled steel strips or coil into the shape of a square cross-section after being processed from Q235 steel. The hot-rolled thick-walled SHS tube, in addition to having thicker walls, also meets or exceeds the specifications of the corner and the verticalness of the edges, compared to the cold-formed resistance-welded SHS tubes. It boasts excellent comprehensive physical properties, good weldability of large-diameter square rectangular tubes, favorable heat treatment characteristics, and corrosion resistance. It also has excellent super-low-temperature ductility.
