Art glass is a decorative material commonly used in modern home interiors, characterized by its artistic coloration added to ordinary glass, which can greatly enhance the overall decor. However, the decoration of art glass is also closely related to its installation art. How should art glass be installed? What are the installation techniques?
During the installation of artistic glass, on-site measurements are taken by the vendor. The installation area, whether on walls or floors, must be levelled. For safety reasons, glass cannot be hung on non-load-bearing walls. Suspended glass installations must use **specific products** to prevent glass from falling. Additionally, pay attention to the installation and acceptance inspection of the glass. After the artistic glass arrives, check for cracks, dings, if it's beveled, whether the laminated glass is sealed, and if the size meets the order requirements. Steel-tempered glass can request a certification of tempering. If the vendor is responsible for the installation, ensure that the fixed points for hanging glass are on the same level to avoid uneven stress on the glass and potential breakage.
Similar to standard installations, glass glue can be used for fixation, provided the glass is placed in a recess. In practice, glass partitions are often fitted with a wooden base, about 100mm high. This base is anchored to the ground and features a recess suitable for the glass thickness. Once the glass is inserted, it is securely fixed with glass glue. The top of the glass partition is also installed this way. For installing a background wall, you can use advertising tacks to secure the corners and apply glass glue, or use stainless steel clamps; you can also opt for folded-edge stainless steel.
