Steel strip tubes are made with a U-shaped steel strip composite with PE material, enhancing hoop strength without increasing costs, offering better performance than spiral or corrugated pipes at the same weight. It can address heavy-load issues and more. The large diameter pipes we produce range from DN300mm to DN2400mm, maintaining a hoop strength of over 8KN/m2, which is lighter than cement pipes and other plastic pipes.
Characteristics of steel strip pipes:
1. Resistant to contamination, waste water, and chemical corrosion; not prone to degradation due to decomposing matter in the soil.
2. The pipe wall features a "U"-shaped structure, which is less prone to cracking even under ground settlement conditions. Additionally, it has excellent recovery properties after deformation, demonstrating great adaptability to the ground.
3. Pipe materials are typically black, capable of withstanding direct sunlight exposure during storage and construction.
4. Pipes are not prone to cracking or leaking due to expansion in -60℃ environments.
5. Lightweight: easy to transport and install, being only 1/8 the weight of cement pipes; trenching requires only a bulldozer, no large machinery needed.
6. Easy to connect, pipe sections can be joined outside the trench and then pushed into place by a bulldozer, reducing construction time and costs.
7. Good transportability for domestic wastewater sludge.
8. Smooth interior reduces friction and ensures quick drainage.
9. Low construction, management, and maintenance costs.
10. The round-type extruded rib structure of the pipe not only enhances the hoop stiffness of the pipe but also serves as a root restraint, addressing the tension and crown piercing issues caused by longitudinal displacement of the pipeline.
11. Due to the elastic modulus ratio of steel and plastic materials exceeding 200 and the weight ratio exceeding 7.85, steel strip reinforcement is more likely to impart hoop stiffness and stiffness-to-weight ratio to pipes, especially large diameter pipes, compared to pure plastic pipes.
