Product Nature:
Oxide of zinc: ZnO
Molecular Weight: 81.39
White hexagonal crystal system crystalline or powder, odorless, non-toxic, fine texture.
This product dissolves in acids, NaOH, and NH4Cl, but is not soluble in water, ethanol, or ammonia water. It is an amphoteric oxide with the ability to absorb ultraviolet light.
Product Application:
Zinc oxide has a wide range of applications, extensively used in the rubber industry to enhance the elasticity and wear resistance of rubber products. In the paint industry, zinc oxide is an essential white pigment. Beyond its physical properties, it also serves as a fungistat, mold inhibitor, anti-caking agent, and durability enhancer in paints. Zinc oxide is also utilized in the production of intermediates for various chemical materials, as well as in the ceramics, glass, and textile industries. For instance, it reacts with organic acids to form zinc soaps used as banana softeners and as an intermediate for the synthesis of zinc sulfide phosphorescent materials.
