A double-pivot screw-type gate opener is one type among many, consisting of a motor, gearbox, screw, base, handle, intermediate drive shaft, and other components. The lower end of the screw is pivotally connected to the lifting ear at the top of the gate, while the upper end is supported within a bearing nut. The motor drives a worm gear via a belt, and the worm gear is connected to the bearing nut with a flat key to enable the nut's rotation. It is suitable for stop gates with relatively wide waterways.
