Due to the spherical graphite microstructure of ductile iron, it excels in reducing vibration resistance over cast steel, thereby aiding in stress reduction. A significant reason for choosing ductile iron is its lower cost compared to cast steel. The low cost of ductile iron makes it more popular, with high casting efficiency and reduced machining costs.

Ductile iron has comparable strength to cast steel. It boasts a high yield strength, with a minimum of 40k, whereas the yield strength of cast steel is only 36k. In most municipal applications, such as water, saltwater, steam, etc., ductile iron exhibits superior corrosion and oxidation resistance compared to cast steel.

Installation:

One. The inner diameter (or inner length x width) of the cast iron manhole cover must be equal to or greater than the reserved manhole size; otherwise, it will significantly affect the load-bearing capacity.

Ensure that the wellhead is firmly attached to the concrete ground surface during installation; there should be no gaps or air spaces. Otherwise, it may be damaged by a roller and affect its service life during construction and installation.

Section 3: When installing cast iron manhole covers on asphalt pavements, be sure to avoid the construction machinery directly compacting the manhole base. During road construction, leave a hole slightly larger than the manhole base in the pavement, and install the cover after the asphalt is laid.

On the streets, you can see various types of manholes, such as wastewater treatment manholes, drainage manholes, municipal manholes, communication manholes, and power manholes. Naturally, the raw materials for these manholes with different functions are also varied. Regardless of the type, manholes are installed on or beside the road, so the installation must meet standards and procedures. Otherwise, it may pose hidden dangers and cause inconvenience to citizens.

Inspecting the borehole's net hole diameter must not exceed the net hole of the well frame to prevent the well frame from bearing suspended loads and causing accidents.

Five. The relative height of the product plane to the ground should be within +2 to -2mm, otherwise it may bring bad luck to the future use of the manhole cover.

9. When installing manhole covers on asphalt surfaces, be sure to avoid direct碾压 over the manhole base with construction machinery. When casting the entire surface, leave a slightly larger hole than the manhole base. Install the cover after the asphalt is laid. (For full concrete surfaces, install after the second layer is laid and compacted.) Ensuring the quality of the cover installation extends its service life.

Ten. To maintain the appearance of the cover, ensuring clear patterns and lettering, during asphalt road construction, use thin iron sheet to cover the manhole cover or brush on used motor oil as a protective layer to prevent asphalt from splashing onto the cover. For concrete road construction, cover the manhole cover with plastic film to prevent concrete mortar from staining the cover surface and damaging the patterns and lettering. Additionally, clean the cover surface with water at the end of the day's work.
