breeding method
Seed collection
When collecting seeds, it is recommended to choose a robust mother tree that is 10-20 years old, has a wide crown and thick branches, and is free from pests and diseases. Pearls can be collected in early to mid October when the scales have not yet cracked, sun dried and threshed. After selection or wind selection, the collected seeds can be placed in bags or other containers and stored in a ventilated and dry place. The germination ability of the seeds can be extended to 3-4 years. The seed purity is 95% and the thousand grain weight is 30 grams. The indoor germination rate is 80%, and the field germination rate is 70%.
Choose a bag
The seedling container should be made of plastic bags or non-woven fabrics with holes in the middle and lower parts, with specifications of wall thickness of 0.04-0.05 cm, height of 15 cm, and diameter of 6 cm.
seedling cultivation
Choose fertile, moist, and loose sandy loam or loam soil as nursery land. After applying sufficient base fertilizer, prepare the land and build a bed. It is necessary to cultivate carefully, break the mud blocks, and level the bed surface. The sowing season is from early February to mid March. Before sowing, soak the seeds in 2% formalin solution or Bordeaux mixture for 20 minutes for disinfection, and then soak them in warm water at 55-60 ℃ for 18-24 hours to promote germination.
Sowing seedlings on demand, with a row spacing of 6 × 8 or 8 × 8 centimeters, and a layer of fine soil should be laid in the sowing ditch. Use 2-3 kilograms of seeds per acre. After sowing, the seeds should be covered with thin soil and covered with charcoal ash. It is advisable to cover the seeds so that some of them can still be seen, and then cover with grass.
It can only be unearthed one month after sowing, and after most of the seedlings are unearthed, the covering grass should be removed. Within 40 days after the seedlings are unearthed, attention should be paid to keeping the seedbed moist. From May to early July, fertilizer can be applied 1-2 times a month, with 2-5 kilograms of ammonium sulfate per acre per application. At the same time, various measures should be taken to prevent bird damage. Annual first grade seedlings with a height of over 40 centimeters and a ground diameter of over 0.5 centimeters.
