Air spring damper is a relatively new technology, although its application is not yet widespread, it is a promising vibration isolation solution that is increasingly valued and adopted in some engineering vibration isolation projects. Air spring is a type of rubber product reinforced with cords, filled with compressed air, and used to act as a spring by utilizing the compressibility of gas. It comes in various types such as long pillow, gourd, and diaphragm.
Air spring shock absorbers can be roughly divided into free film type, hybrid type, sleeve type, and bladder type air springs. Their rubber structure is similar to that of tubeless tires, consisting of an inner rubber layer (airtight layer), an outer rubber layer, a curtain reinforcement layer, and a steel wire ring. The load is mainly borne by the curtain, and the material of the curtain is the decisive factor for the pressure resistance and durability of the air spring. Generally, high-strength polyester or nylon curtain is used, and the number of curtain layers is usually 2 or 4. The layers intersect and are arranged at an angle to the longitudinal direction of the bladder.
Compared with metal springs, it has the advantages of small mass, good comfort, fatigue resistance, and long service life. It has both shock absorption and noise reduction functions. Airbags are widely used in various machinery such as automobiles, trains, and punching machines.
