Bentonite Waterproof Mat GCL is a type of geomembrane that lies between GCL (on-site thickened compacted clay liner) and high molecular materials like geomembranes. It is primarily used in environmental engineering projects such as waste landfill sites, underground reservoirs, and infrastructure construction, addressing sealing, isolation, and leakage prevention issues with excellent performance and strong resistance to damage. Geotextile waterproof blankets can be categorized by production processes into: needle-punched sodium bentonite waterproof blankets, needle-punched and film-coated sodium bentonite waterproof blankets, and adhesive sodium bentonite waterproof blankets. The needle-punched and film-coated sodium bentonite waterproof blanket involves bonding a layer of high-density polyethylene geotextile film to the non-woven geotextile surface of the needle-punched sodium bentonite waterproof blanket. The adhesive sodium bentonite waterproof blanket is a compressed sodium bentonite made by adhering bentonite particles to a high-density polyethylene board using an adhesive. Geosynthetic clay liner is a specialized soil-textile material used for preventing leakage in artificial lakes, landfill sites, underground parking garages, rooftop gardens, ponds, oil storage facilities, and chemical storage yards. It consists of highly expansible sodium bentonite sandwiched between a custom composite geotextile and nonwoven fabric. The needle-punched bentonite impermeable mat forms numerous small fiber spaces, preventing bentonite particles from flowing in one direction. When water is present, it creates a uniform, high-density gel-like waterproof layer within the mat, effectively preventing water leakage.
