Compacted septic tanks are treatment facilities that utilize sedimentation and anaerobic fermentation principles to remove suspended organic matter from domestic wastewater, classified as primary treatment.

Transition period facility handling. Domestic wastewater contains a large amount of feces, paper debris, and pathogenic parasites; the settled sludge undergoes more than 3 months of anaerobic treatment.

Digestion, decomposing organic matter in sludge into stable inorganic matter, converting decomposable raw sludge into stable mature sludge, altering the structure of the sludge.

Reduced sludge moisture content. Regularly remove sludge for off-site disposal, landfilling, or use as fertilizer.
