In contrast, the surface coating of aluminum-zinc coated steel sheets is composed of 55% aluminum, 43.5% zinc, and a small amount of other elements. Microscopically, the aluminum-zinc coating exhibits a honeycomb structure. Both aluminum-zinc coated steel sheets and galvanized aluminum sheets are based on steel plates (or substrates), then coated with different ratios of zinc and aluminum. In aluminum-zinc coated steel sheets, the aluminum content is 55% and the zinc content is 16-18%, while in galvanized aluminum sheets, the aluminum content is 5% and the zinc content is 38%.
