Glass-reinforced plastic (GRP) butterfly valves, also known as composite butterfly valves, are primarily composed of unsaturated polyester resin and glass fibers. These valves serve as one-way valves installed at the outlets of riverbank drainage pipes. When the river's tide level is higher than the outlet pipe opening and the pressure is greater than the pressure inside the pipe, the valve's panel automatically closes to prevent river water from backflowing into the drainage pipe.
