Gabion baskets are made by weaving low-carbon steel wire, treated with special anti-corrosion coatings, through a hexagonal mesh weaving machine, and then assembled into a structural gabion basket by hand at the factory. These baskets are filled with stone materials on the construction site for use in retaining walls, riverbank protection, and dam protection structures. Gabion baskets can be applied in slope support, foundation pit support, rock face meshing, slope greening, and railway and highway isolation fences. They can also be made into mesh boxes and pads for erosion protection of rivers, dams, and sea dikes.
